About Us The
North Warren Track & Field Club is a privately-funded, NWR Board
approved Club. This is the first official track program in
the 40 year history of our school.

History: A
group of parents (Randy Walker-NWR '84, Maggie Walker, Gordon
Helck and Andy Oakley) made an initial presentation to the NWR
Board of Education in the fall of 2010 to start a
privately-funded Track & Field program. After a
presentation by Athletic Director John Simonetti, the Club was
approved by the Board on December 7, 2010. Coaches were
approved on December 20, 2010 and the first practice was held on
Wednesday, January 5, 2011.
18 athletes
competed in our first meet on Sunday, January 16 - a UAGTCA
Developmental Meet held at Widener University in Chester, PA.
Maddie Bronstein won NWR's first-ever track event, the HS Girls
1500M. Our first season ended with the HS Girls and HS
Boys teams taking 2nd place at the UAGTCA Championships held at
Lehigh University. One team member, Ryan Walker, went on
to win the USA Track & Field National Youth Indoor Shot Put
Championship held in Chicago in March 2011.
The Club is open
to 7-12th Grade students interested in training and competing in
Track & Field events including dashes (sprints), runs, hurdles
and shot put. No experience is required. Currently,
we offer the program during the Winter season (December -
February).
